What is the extender?
The Hatcherly extender is a clinic-grade preservative that keeps a donor sample ready for insemination after overnight shipping. It is the same approach fertility labs have used for decades, now packaged for safe at-home use.
A non-toxic preservative on a cold pack
Your donor collects a sample into a sterile specimen cup, then mixes it with the extender solution and places it on the included cold pack. The cold pack keeps the sample cool during shipping, while the extender slows biological activity so the sperm remains usable until it reaches you.
Overnight delivery, then self-insemination
The donor ships the preserved sample overnight to your home. Once it arrives, you can perform a simple vaginal self-insemination using the rounded-tip syringe in your kit — no clinic visit required.
Viable for up to 96 hours
When kept refrigerated, the extender maintains sperm viability for up to 96 hours. That window is what makes the overnight-shipping model possible: even with courier transit, the sample arrives with enough time to spare.
What is in the preservative?
The formulation is modeled on the egg-yolk-based buffers used by reproductive clinics for years. It protects sperm during temperature changes and transport, giving the sample the best chance of remaining motile after the journey.

Hatcherly does not prevent the transmission of infection. Your donor should be tested and must be someone you know and trust.
